KwaQiko Paralegal Office is located in the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal and is largely made up of traditional settlements and is currently characterised by limited economic activity. The Advice office is based at the Buhle Bogu FET College. The office was founded in 1992 by Inkosi Phikubuxoki Roy Bele, while he was a student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The advice office provides free legal advice to community and deals mostly with cases such as:
- UIF benefits,
- Mines surplus apportionment,
- Social grants,
- Death benefits,
- RAF claims and
- Mediation and conflict resolution.
The office conducts educational workshops on human rights and socio economic rights.
Staff: Ms Busisiwe Mkhize
Ms Busisiwe Mkhize has a Certificate in Paralegal studies through CLRDC in partnership with the University of Kwazulu-Natal, Law Faculty in 1994. Since passing her Diploma, she has been working at the Paralegal office.
