Amazizi Paralegal Office is located in the Drakensberg surrounded mountainous region of KwaZulu Natal between Lesotho, Free State and Emnambithi/Ladysmith. The area is under traditional leadership (Amakhosi and Izinduna). The office was established in 1995, since its inception the cases dealt with are:
- Ukuthwala (Women Abduction),
- Domestic violence,
- Labour matters in particular Provident Fund claims,
- Road Accident Fund claims,
- Social Grants,
- Farm related matters such as eviction of farm workers and occupational injuries.
The Advice office conducts community educational workshops on Human rights and socio-economic rights topics.
Staff: Hlengiwe Zondo
Ms Zondo started as a volunteer in 2008 where she was given a chance to study and obtained a National Certificate in Paralegal Practice through Sasseta initiative at Boston College in Durban. This was obtained in 2000. She has since been working at the advice office.
